We went to the Dia De Los Muertos festival at Mesa Arts Center yesterday, and I awoke in a mood to make my own altar. Here's what would be on it:
A copy of the movie Mamma Mia for Billie, my sister's late, great Great Dane. We were watching it 2 Christmases ago when the beach scene came on and Billie planted her feet in front of the couch and STARED at the screen. She loved men, especially half-naked ones.
A bar of Dove soap, some Lipton tea bags, and a lemon for Aunt Mary Jane. And a little box of Godiva.
A bottle of 4711 cologne, a cup of back coffee, copies of the Turf Queen races and The New York Post for The Don. And a picture of Sydney.
For both her and my dad, a plate of pecan snowballs and an Irish knit sweater. And a picture of Peaches.
