Went to Kent to work on homework. Put in a good 3 hours and was almost finished. The hit "save" and closed out of Word without saving to the desktop or the P drive. Lost it. Fuck.
This is the second time this semester I've done it. All I can say is that I was distracted by The Surfer sighing over the fact that he can't get a job. Hint: stop being an idiot. This time he was bemoaning the fact that an ipod and the ability to download lectures, etc was the "first technological leap separating people with money from those without." Maybe for you jackass, but for me it was 5th grade computer class and the fact that I couldn't input the program fast enough to actually do anything, while the rest of the class breezed through it due to having computers at home. And that's just amongst the upper middle class white folk. Want to bitch about income and technological inequality in terms of technology? Take a tumble down the income/ education/technology ravine and then come back for a talk.
Oh, and a duo from the Special Libraries class were planning a prison library and talking so loudly I was tempted to shove my shoe into one's mouth just to shut him up.
I left and got some iced French coffee, roast pork pad thai and a spring roll at Phomh Phen but I'm still seething in true librarian fashion.....
