Over at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books SB Sarah makes a prediction: financially savvy heros and heroines are the next big trend.
Speaking of which, over on Filthy Commerce Lisa Schmeiser asks if Confessions of a Shopaholic is hitting screens too late to be amusing.
Personally, I would totally read fiction with realistic financial detail, like the hero/heroine making dinner out of a butternut squash, a handful of navy beans, a bullion cube and some rice because it's 3 days to payday and that's what's around after the student loan payment is hits the bank account.

I would read it if the hero was NOT fabulously wealthy with no visible effort and therefore poised to rescue her. If the hero's going to be in a glamor profession, I want to see him do the genuine hard work.
