I feel horrible in a way for mentioning this. Adam is an acquaintance I met through Patrick and Genevieve, and I admire his dedication to Tremont and his gift for bringing people together in a community.
But.
Two houses in your immediate neighborhood burning down in 2 months is not a sign the neighborhood is still good, no matter how quick the Fire Department responds. And that's before we get into any of Cleveland's other issues.
I cannot be that optimistic about Cleveland's long term prospects.

Once upon a time, a grad school colleague of mine wrote her master's thesis on how owners of wolf-dog hybrids develop common themes in justifying why it's really great that their pets eat the sofa, the table, the floor, and most of the walls. Her basic reasoning -- that communities create their happy ways of justifying craziness -- applies to so many situations.
Not that I see an application here or anything...
