Check your calendar--are you free April 23rd? Why not give away some free books? The US World Book Night is looking for 50,000 individuals across the country to give away books to random low/non-readers.
My idea is to ride the #29 bus and give my 20 copies away to fellow bus passengers. I want to give away Sherman Alexie's The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, which is perfect for reading on the bus: it's YA, funny yet horribly sad, won the National Book Award, and has short chapters so you can time them to read while waiting or on the bus without missing your stop.
It will be SO MUCH FUN!
